The New Testament book of 1 Peter was written to a group of Christians who were facing intense persecution for their beliefs. They were ostracized from society and many were second-guessing their decision to follow Jesus. But Peter's letter comes as an assurance that their persecution means they are faithfully living out the life of Jesus and that His life in them will lead to a new life forever.
